Police officials, upon receiving the bomb threat alerts, immediately initiated thorough search operations at the affected school premises. Despite extensive searches, the search teams have yet to uncover any suspicious items or devices. Reassuring concerned parents and citizens, Delhi Police spokesperson Suman Nalwa emphasized that all appropriate measures are being taken to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Government Response and Investigations

The Union Home Ministry, echoing Delhi Police’s sentiments, categorically stated that the threats appear to be a hoax and urged the public not to panic. Efforts are underway to trace the origin of the threatening email, with authorities striving to ascertain the IP address of the sender. Police officials condemned the act as a malicious attempt to incite panic and assured the public that the cyber cell unit is diligently working to trace the email and IP address.

Affected Schools and Emergency Responses

Among the first schools to receive the threats were Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar, and Delhi Public School in Dwarka. Subsequently, nearly 60 other schools reported similar threats, necessitating immediate action. One of the affected schools, Mother Mary, was in the midst of conducting an exam when the evacuation order was issued, prompting an emergency response and the evacuation of students and staff.

School Communication and Parental Response

School administrations swiftly notified parents of the situation and instructed them to pick up their children from the premises. Delhi Public School (DPS) issued a statement to parents, informing them of the threat and the precautionary measures being taken, including the immediate dismissal of students. Visuals from the schools depicted concerned parents rushing to collect their children as authorities conducted search operations.

Collaborative Efforts and Precautionary Measures

The swift response from law enforcement agencies, including bomb detection teams, bomb disposal squads, and officials from the Delhi Fire Service, underscores the collaborative efforts to ensure the safety and security of students and staff. Some schools, unaffected by the threats, also chose to dismiss students early as a precautionary measure, highlighting the collective vigilance in the face of potential threats.

Government Official’s Statement

Delhi’s Education Minister, Atishi, confirmed the ongoing search operations and reassured parents that no suspicious items have been found in any of the schools thus far. She urged parents and citizens not to panic and emphasized the continuous communication and collaboration between the police and schools to ensure safety.

As investigations continue and security measures remain heightened, the safety and well-being of students and staff remain the utmost priority. The swift response and coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies and school administrations serve as a testament to the resilience and preparedness in managing potential security threats within educational institutions.
