In a rare display of adventure and appreciation for nature, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a glimpse of his recent undersea exploration in the Laskhadweep islands. The Prime Minister, during his visit on January 2 and 3, not only inaugurated significant projects but also delved into the breathtaking undersea life through snorkeling.
PM Modi took to social media platform X to post pictures of his exhilarating undersea journey, expressing his awe for the islands located in the Arabian Sea. “For those who wish to embrace the adventurer in them, Lakshadweep has to be on your list. During my stay, I also tried snorkeling – what an exhilarating experience it was,” he shared, capturing the essence of his exploration.
Apart from the underwater escapade, the Prime Minister also shared moments of tranquility and leisure on the pristine beaches of Lakshadweep. Early morning walks and quiet contemplation by the beach were accompanied by stunning visuals that portrayed the natural beauty of the islands.
“In addition to the scenic beauty, Lakshadweep’s tranquility is also mesmerizing. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on how to work even harder for the welfare of 140 crore Indians,” PM Modi wrote, emphasizing the personal and introspective aspect of his visit.
During his two-day visit, PM Modi inaugurated the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection and laid the foundation stone for the renovation of primary healthcare facilities and five model Anganwadi centers. Several other projects were also dedicated to the nation, marking the government’s commitment to enhancing development in the region.
“Recently, I had the opportunity to be among the people of Lakshadweep. I am still in awe of the stunning beauty of its islands and the incredible warmth of its people,” he shared on X, thanking the locals for their hospitality.
PM Modi highlighted the government’s focus on uplifting lives through enhanced development in Lakshadweep. “In addition to creating futuristic infrastructure, it is also about creating opportunities for better healthcare, faster internet, and drinking water while protecting as well as celebrating the vibrant local culture,” he said.
The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the interactions he had with the beneficiaries of various government schemes. “The life journeys I heard were truly moving,” he remarked, emphasizing the positive impact of government initiatives on health, self-reliance, women empowerment, and improved agricultural practices.
“Lakshadweep is not just a group of islands; it’s a timeless legacy of traditions and a testament to the spirit of its people. My visit has been an enriching journey of learning and growing,” PM Modi concluded, encapsulating the essence of his visit to the picturesque Lakshadweep islands.
